On December 4, 2015 Gisele Pereira successfully defended her dissertation. She had completed her coursework at the University of Missouri before moving to Cleveland, where she works in the radiation oncology clinic as medical physicist while completing her research with the QIL. Her committee included Sudarshan Loyalka, Mark Prelas, Lixin Ma and Tushar Gosh from the University of Missouri; Eric Klein from Washington University in St. Louis; and Raymond Muzic from Case Western Reserve University. The defense and exam were conducted using video conferencing and Dr. Pereira’s father—another Dr. Pereira in Medical Physics—was able to join during the public presentation portion as a guest.
Celebration followed the successful defense!
