Education is one of the primary tenants of the Department of Radiology. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to teaching and we support a number of programs including the Diagnostic Radiology Residency, subspecialty fellowships, and medical student programs. We have pioneered and integrated radiologic imaging into the basic science year curriculum for CWRU medical students. We also offer a number of medical student electives across all of our Department of Radiology subspecialties.
The goal of the interventional radiology symposium is to introduce current medical students to the exciting field of Interventional Radiology. The symposium will outline imaging, pathology, and treatments that are relevant to Interventional Radiology. There will also be opportunities to discuss the new integrated IR/DR residency.
The Department of Radiology has developed and designed a curriculum for one of the world’s first simulation labs dedicated to interventional radiology. With our state of the art VIST simulator, our residents can perfect their endovascular skills on their own time before even rotating through the interventional radiology division.
The Department of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University offers a number of introductory and advanced radiology clinical electives. These electives are designed to familiarize students with the field of radiology, learn about appropriate imaging guidelines, and gain exposure to the role of radiologists in the care of patients.
Our faculty members are registered as trainers in a variety of graduate degree programs in multiple colleges at Case Western Reserve University. We invite interested students to read more about our research and contact our faculty directly.
