Lake Erie Folk Fest No. 10: A Community Celebration of Traditional Music
Feb. 14
There’s no need to even leave campus for this one. The 10th Lake Erie Folk Festival will be held in the Florence Harkness Memorial Chapel Saturday, Feb. 14, from 1 to 6 p.m.
The Northeast Ohio Musical Heritage Association is partnering with WRUW 91.1FM to bring this event to Case Western Reserve. It will feature a number of free activities, including workshops, jam sessions and performances. The day will conclude with a ticketed concert performed by local, regional, and national artists.
Cleveland Kurentovanje
Feb. 14
As the home to the largest Slovenian population outside of Slovenia, Cleveland hosts an annual Kurentovanje festival each winter, bringing Eastern European flavors and traditions to the city.
Held at the Slovenian National Home in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood, Kurentovanje celebrates the upcoming end to winter and welcomes spring. It features vibrant colors and people dressed as Kurents, large “monsters” that roam the streets that traditionally are meant to scare away winter.
The festival features a parade, food, dancing and more. Events are free and open to the public.

Brite Winter
Feb. 21
Brite Winter proves that winter in Cleveland doesn’t have to be a drag. The event warms up winter for Clevelanders each year with an outdoor music festival featuring up-and-coming artists. In 2026, the event will move to Cleveland’s Waterloo Arts District for its 17th year. The event will be Saturday, Feb. 21, from 2 to 11:30 p.m.
Music will be performed across several stages, covering genres such as hip hop, punk and soul. The festival also features art and food.
When you’re ready to warm up, there will be warming tents, fire pits, s’mores and hot chocolate available.
