3 things to do in Cleveland in March
With spring break on the horizon for Case Western Reserve University students, it’s a prime time to take a mental pause. One of the best ways to do that is by exploring our community. We’ve pulled together a few suggestions for how to get out and see some of what Cleveland has to offer during March.

Short. Sweet. Film Fest.
March 2–8
Founded by Case Western Reserve University alumnus Mike Suglio (CWR ’09; MGT ’12), the Short. Sweet. Film Fest. features films under 40 minutes long in a professional setting. The festival, created by and for filmmakers, emphasizes works created by local artists. This year, it will be held March 2–8 at Atlas Cinemas Shaker Square.
The festival offers a wide range of categories to appeal to different audiences, including science fiction, fan fiction, documentary, animation and experimental styles. This year’s festival will feature almost 350 short films from 26 countries, a quarter of which were produced in Northeast Ohio.
Among this year’s film schedule are several made by Case Western Reserve students through Studio 300. Student-produced films will be shown Wednesday, March 4.

Cleveland Crunch games
March 14–15
See Cleveland’s Major League Indoor Soccer team in action as the regular season comes to a close this month.
The Cleveland Crunch will play two home games March 14 (vs. Canadian Crusaders) and March 15 (vs. Rockford Thunder) at the Wolstein Center. Buy-one-get-one-free tickets are available—purchase your tickets.
The Crunch first began play in 1989, and has since competed in different leagues and also under the name Cleveland Force. The original team folded in 2005 and was relaunched in 2020 under new leadership. The Crunch has won five championships: in 1994, 1996, 1999, 2021 and 2024.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 17
St. Patrick’s Day in Cleveland is a grand affair. The main draw is the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which features around 10,000 participants and draws upwards of 500,000 viewers. The parade route is on Superior Avenue from East 18th Street to around East 3rd Street.
This year’s parade theme celebrates 250 years of Irish American history. Representatives from 28 Irish organizations organize this annual affair, which features 125 units.
