The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University is excited to launch its first cohort of the Mather Center Fellows program in fall 2026. The program is a three-year experience, beginning in the student’s second year, for undergraduates who want to contribute to interdisciplinary research on gender while achieving a meaningful social impact.
As a fellow, you'll join a small cohort of motivated students committed to:
- Advancing scholarship through a feminist lens;
- Developing research and leadership skills; and
- Creating positive change on campus and beyond.
For the pilot cohort, the center is accepting second- and third-year students (those who have completed at least two semesters at CWRU). This program is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of sex.
In addition to a letter of recommendation from a CWRU faculty member, those interested in applying must submit a statement of interest, which addresses:
- Why you are interested in completing the fellowship, with particular attention to how considerations of gender play into your long-term goals and/or integrate with your current field of study; and
- Your academic preparation for the fellowship, especially examples of ability to independently pursue projects to their conclusion.
Applications are due on Sept. 28. Interviews and acceptance notifications will occur in early October, with a program launch scheduled immediately following fall break.
