The Mather Center is excited to launch its first cohort of the Mather Center Fellows program in Fall 2026. The program is a three-year experience, beginning in the sophomore year, for undergraduates who want to contribute to interdisciplinary research on gender while achieving a meaningful social impact.
As a Fellow, you'll join a small cohort of motivated students committed to advancing scholarship through a feminist lens, developing research and leadership skills, and creating positive change on campus and beyond.
For the pilot cohort in fall 2026, we are accepting sophomores and juniors (students who have completed at least two semesters at CWRU). This program is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of sex.

Application Instructions
To apply, you will need a statement of interest which addresses the following:
- Why you are interested in completing the fellowship, with particular attention to how considerations of gender play into your long-term goals and/or integrate with your current field of study
- Your academic preparation for the fellowship, especially examples of ability to independently pursue projects to their conclusion
You will also need a letter of recommendation from a current CWRU faculty member.
Applications are due on September 28, 2026. Interviews and acceptance notifications will occur in early October, with a program launch scheduled immediately following fall break.
