Making handcrafted goods is more than just a hobby for the members of the Crafters@Case group at Case Western Reserve University. Their craft also helps provide warmth and assistance to those in need.
Members meet across campus several times a week to make hats, scarves, blankets and more to be donated or sold to raise money for community organizations.
Founded in 2013 with just five members, Crafters@Case has grown to more than 35 members and is supported by the Staff Advisory Council Community Service Committee.
Case Western Reserve’s Wellness Program also recognizes the group and its ability to build a community. For that reason, faculty and staff who are Wellness Program participants can join Crafters@Case to be eligible for the community category for the wellness incentive.
However, all members of the campus community—regardless of skill level—are invited to join the group, including staff, faculty and students.
Meetings are held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.:
- Mondays in Wood Building, Room W200E, and Mandel School, Suite 375;
- Tuesdays at the nursing school on the second floor across from the elevators and in Sears Building, Room 642 (or Room 655);
- Wednesdays in Wood Building, Room W200E; and
- Thursdays on the second floor of the nursing school, Sears Building, Room 642 (or Room 655) and Mandel School, Suite 375.
