In addition to global citation rankings, CWRU had 766 faculty members listed in this year’s Stanford/Elsevier compilation of top scientists, reflecting broad research excellence across the university’s disciplines. (Source: internal list provided.)
ScholarGPS ranking
Beyond these global lists, CWRU scholars have also earned recognition from other citation-based platforms. For example, Boyatzis, Scott Shane, and Lyytinen have been repeatedly identified in ScholarGPS rankings as among the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide— marking sustained influence over their careers.
Within individual departments, research excellence is also clear. The Organizational Behavior Department had four faculty members listed among the highly cited, including several who also serve as secondary faculty in Weatherhead or other schools: James Stoller, Peter Whitehouse, and David Aron.
Satish Nambisan honor from MIS Quarterly
Satish Nambisan, chair of the Department of Design and Innovation at Weatherhead School of Management, also was recently recognized for his scholarly work. He received the Davis-Dickson Impact Award from MIS Quarterly, the top journal in information systems.
This award recognizes researchers for a paper they published more than 10 years ago that continues to be highly influential through citations. Nambisan received the award for “Service Innovation: A Service-Dominant Logic Perspective,” a paper he co-authored with Robert Lusch.
