WEWS: Robert Fischer, associate professor at the Mandel School and co-director of the school’s Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development, noted that while about 80% of the city's rental units still need lead-safe certification, the city is making positive strides. “In order to get there, we've got to dramatically change the slope,” he said. “The problem is we don't actually know that a child lives in the property, in the rental property until they're poisoned.”
