Mandel School's Daniel Flannery weighs in on Houston McDonald's shooting and gun control
The Filet-O-Fish snafu that ended in murder at a McDonald's
A&E: Daniel Flannery, director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, discussed a dispute over a missing Filet-O-Fish that escalated into a fatal shooting at a Houston McDonald's. Flannery said the nine shots in the murder suggest intense, momentary rage and noted that easy access to a gun can turn minor conflicts deadly. “More access and availability mean more opportunities for use," he said.
