WEWS: Robert Fischer, the Grace Longwell Coyle Professor in Civil Society and director of the Center on Poverty and Community Development at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, said listings in communities that ban short-term rentals show digital platforms’ systems “are not working very well,” and users should expect hosts and sites to follow local ordinances. His comments come amid scrutiny of Airbnb and similar platforms after a deadly shooting at a Bath Township rental.
