Bladder cancer survival rates and prognosis: what to know

WebMD: Daniel Spratt, professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the School of Medicine, explained what the five-year relative survival rate means. "For bladder cancer, the overall five-year relative survival is about 79%, meaning that, on average, 79 out of 100 people are alive five years after their diagnosis when you subtract out deaths from other causes," said Spratt.
