Obesity medications: A guide
Endocrine Web: Revital Gorodeski Baskin, assistant clinical professor of medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, discussed prescription treatment options for obesity. “They can try a drug holiday for a short while, and then restart the medicine to see if the benefit returns,” Gorodeski Baskin said. “These medications work on different hormones and neurotransmitters in the brain. For some, trying [a drug with] a different mechanism will help more with their appetite control.”
