'Transformative' $18 million grant for UH, Case Western Reserve to tackle health disparities amongst African-American communities

WKYC: Sanjay Rajagopalan, director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute and professor at the School of Medicine, discussed a new $18 million grant aimed at addressing health disparities for the underprivileged in Cleveland, noting that preventative measures won’t be solved by writing a check. “It's finding (patients) the resources that they need to solve some immediate problems, getting them to see a physician or the mental health worker they need to,” he said.
