WWL New Orleans: Justin Buchler, associate professor in the Department pf Political Science at the College of Arts and Sciences, said a funding compromise is still possible despite Congress’s August recess, but the compressed legislative calendar increases pressure. He noted that avoiding a government shutdown will require bipartisan agreement before the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30.
