Year of Toni Morrison celebrates Ohio’s only Nobel Laureate for Literature through statewide events

The Land: Marian Mobley, professor emerita of English and African American studies at the College of Arts and Sciences, said the yearlong “Beloved: Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison” celebration should help Ohioans take pride in Morrison’s journey from a Lorain library job to international literary acclaim. The statewide initiative runs Feb. 18, 2026, to Feb. 18, 2027 with events across Ohio.
