When you start hormone therapy in menopause matters

U.S. News & World Report: Ify Chidi, pre-med student and research assistant in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, discussed her new study that found that starting estrogen therapy during perimenopause—rather than after menopause—was linked to a 60% lower risk of breast cancer, heart attack and stroke. Chidi said the findings could “start a larger conversation about prevention in women’s health.”
