Achieving healthcare that is accessible to all populations begins with building relationships with the community, from neighbors and friends to healthcare providers and city representatives. Community engagement can positively impact individual health outcomes from learning and understanding diverse experiences of others.
The Orchestrating Multifaceted Engineering for Growing Artificial Joints (OMEGA) project’s Engagement and Accessibility team hopes to identify and address the challenges that are experienced by individuals most affected by osteoarthritis.
To ensure that all voices from the community are heard, OMEGA Engagement and Accessibility offers various platforms where individuals are able to share their experiences living with chronic knee pain or osteoarthritis of the knee. If individuals are interested in sharing their story but cannot attend a listening session, OMEGA Engagement and Accessibility has developed a community health survey where individuals can answer a short series of questions and share their personal story.
Listening Sessions
The OMEGA team is committed to understanding the experiences of individuals living with chronic knee pain or OA of the knee. Listening sessions will be used as a platform for participants to share their personal journeys and challenges navigating through the healthcare system.

Community Health Survey
The OMEGA Engagement and Accessibility team is conducting a community health survey to gather valuable insights from those living with OA of the knee or chronic knee pain. This is a great opportunity for individuals to share their experiences by answering a short questionnaire about their diagnosis, treatment options, and relationships with their healthcare providers.

Community Events
The OMEGA project is working with individuals to promote a healthier and more connected community. We are attending local events focused on OA, healthy living and community engagement to build relationships and improve awareness on OA of the knee. This is a great way to meet others who are focused on managing their chronic knee pain or OA of the knee.
Clinical Trials
The OMEGA team is working towards performing early Clinical Trials of the OMEGA technology. If you are interested in being updated on our progress and considered for enrollment for future clinical study activities, please reach out to us. Our Clinical Trial schedule is not fully known at this time, but we do want to hear from you if you are interested.
