Information for Students
Poster presenters have the option to present their project to professionals, faculty, or researchers serving as presentation reviewers. Presenting at Intersections provides the opportunity for valuable feedback, recognition through awards or honors, and can be a strong addition to a resume or graduate school application.
Judging from the Undergraduate Research Office is optional. Students can indicate if they wish to be judged on the student registration form. If you select to be judged, you are required to be present for the full duration of Intersections (11:30am - 2:00pm).
Note: Some departments may arrange judging for students in their majors as a requirement for their major. This is a separate process from judging by the Undergraduate Research Office. Please contact your capstone instructor to verify whether this applies to you. You are welcome to still register for judging by URO.
Information for Judges
Thank you for serving as a judge for our undergraduate students presenting at the Intersections Poster Symposium! Intersections is a celebration of undergraduate research at Case Western Reserve University.
Serving as a judge is a great opportunity to connect with undergraduates and to hone your skills at teaching and providing feedback. The student presenters have the option to have their poster judged for competitive awards, as well as to receive feedback on their work.
A few days before the event, the Undergraduate Research Office will provide judges with a list of assigned undergraduate research presenters, an evaluation rubric, map, and link to the online abstract compendium.
Judges will be invited to an optional Zoom meeting to review the timeline, process, and materials. This meeting will take place a few days prior to the event; a Zoom link will be provided via email.
Register to serve as a judge: The Undergraduate Research Office (URO) invites faculty, staff, post-docs, and graduate and PhD students to serve as judges for the Fall Intersections Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium. Please write to us at ugresearch@case.edu to receive a link to the registration form.
