Work with xLab

xLab specializes in applying new digital technologies and business models to business transformation challenges. Our students and faculty use emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, federated machine learning, personal data servers, and decentralized digital identities. We have worked on projects in transportation, insurance, software, government, electronics, data sharing and more. Some of our projects are research-focused; others involve conceptualizing or even building technology for our clients. 

Programs and Activities Value
Prototype Project: Four to six multidisciplinary students work on a company-specific business transformation challenge under faculty supervision and support of industry mentors. 
  • Deliverables that are clearly defined at the start of the project and can include a technology prototype or report including deep user insights, market strength, product expertise, data analytics, and revenue potential
  • Opportunity to see students “in-action” for possible hiring engagements 
Student Showcase and presentations: Regular on-campus events for partner companies. Company representatives meet with their student teams for presentations or demos, as well as interact with other xLab project teams, faculty, and company representatives.

  • Personalized access to top tech- and design-savvy students from CWRU
  • Networking opportunity with non-competing organizations and CWRU faculty
AI Benchmarking Assessment: Work with xLab faculty to assess the overall readiness of your organization for AI adoption; receive a customized report with roadmap and future recommendations.
