Award: $1,500 Research Fund
Applications are invited for the Faculty Affiliates Program for support for work-in-progress in the humanities. Faculty Affiliates will deliver one public presentation in the Institute on their work-in-progress and are encouraged to attend presentations by other Faculty and Graduate Affiliates. Affiliates will also submit a brief written report at the end of their terms. Applications will be reviewed twice during the academic year.
Eligibility:
Funds are available to full-time faculty in the arts and humanities within the College of Arts and Sciences including lecturers, instructors, and visiting faculty. The Baker-Nord Institute will also consider applications from full-time faculty in the social sciences if there is a clear and demonstrated connection to humanistic inquiry.
Applicants can apply once during the academic year.

Applications are due by 5:00 pm on the dates indicated.
Spring 2026 Semester - October 24, 2025
Fall 2026 Semester - April 3, 2026
Selection Criteria:
These competitive grants are awarded on the merit of the proposed projects as a contribution to research in the arts and humanities, the record of the applicant, the quality of the application.
Policies and Expectations:
- Applicants are eligible to apply three years after a previous award.
- Within one month of the completion of the grant period, recipients are required to submit the online FINAL REPORT summarizing the project and describing the impact on your research. Some aspects of the final report may be used in future BNC's external communication materials.
- Future grant applications will not be considered until the final report is submitted.
