Jeffrey Pigott, PhD

Jeffrey manages the operation of the Case School of Engineering’s core facility for materials characterization, Swagelok Center for Surface Analysis of Materials (SCSAM). Jeffrey leads the team of four SCSAM engineers to support the imaging, spectroscopy, and diffraction needs of CWRU faculty, staff, and students as well as external researchers in both the non-profit and industrial sectors.

 Key Job Functions

• Leading and supervising SCSAM engineers including setting priorities, organizing professional development, and conducting performance reviews
• Leading and supporting efforts to acquire, install, and commission new major instruments
• Planning and developing activities to increase SCSAM’s visibility and broaden the academic and industrial user base
• Analyzing and reporting center usage and financial data
