Dr. Christopher Sippel joined the Center for International Affairs as the Director of International Faculty Engagement in 2022. In this inaugural role, Chris connects faculty with potential global partners to encourage and support international collaborations, assists faculty in their pursuit of Fulbright and other global fellowships, directs the international agreement process, recruits international faculty to CWRU to engage in teaching and research, and working on the establishment of a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Program for the institution.
Before coming to CWRU, Chris served as the Associate Vice President for International, Intercultural, and Service Engagement at the University of Findlay (UF). He was the Senior International Officer for the institution and provided strategic vision and leadership for the Offices of Intercultural Student Services and Service and Community Engagement. In addition to his administrative appointment, he also taught courses in the Language and Culture department. Prior to his time at UF, Chris held faculty positions at Kanda University for International Studies and Rikkyo University in Japan.
Chris received his B.A. from Rhodes College, an M.Ed. from Boston University, and an Ed.D. from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
