August 11 Message to International Students: Important Update About Quarantine

To Our International Students:

First, to all of you unable to join us on campus this fall, we will miss you. We regret that visa and other issues prevent you from coming to Cleveland; please know that we will continue to work to engage you in our Case Western Reserve community throughout the semester—as will our colleagues across the university.

For those able to be here in person, we want to make sure you are aware of recent federal changes regarding quarantine. Earlier this month the Centers for Disease Control lifted quarantine requirement for all people traveling from a location outside of the U.S. As a result, those coming from other countries—whether international students or citizens here—no longer have to quarantine for 14 days.  That said, the requirement that all students living on campus be tested for COVID-19 as part of move-in continues.

We already have contacted international students previously registered for quarantining off campus, and by now they should have received their new instructions on how to move-in to housing.

We encourage any other students coming from outside the United States and living on campus to visit housing's move-in site and register for a move-in time through MyHousing

We are excited to welcome international students to campus, and to engage online with new and returning students as the semester begins. Whether in person or via Zoom, we cannot wait to see you.
