Jean-Eudes (John) Dazard, PhD received his PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Montpellier, France, in addition to master's degrees in Computer Science from ESIM School of Engineering, France and Statistics from Case Western Reserve University, USA. With a background is in Data Science, his research originally centered on Computational and Statistical Biology with emphasis on developing Data Mining and Machine Learning methods for high dimensional data, as generated by metabolomics, proteomics and sequencing high-throughput technologies. Focus has been in methods development for high-dimensional data: Regularization and Variance Stabilization; Model Selection as applied to Differential Expression and Interaction Problems, Causal Regulatory Network Analysis, and Bump Hunting Problems in Classification, Regression and Survival settings for High-Dimensional Data. Recent focus has been on Gene-Environment interactions problems involving integration of multi-omics data (Genomics, Epigenetics, Proteomics) as well as Deep-Learning analyses of Imaging Variables (MRI scan and GSI aerial pictures/views), Climate Variables, Socio-Economic Variables, and Socio Environmental Determinants of Health as they relate to health outcomes, disparities, and global environmental issues. His interest is also in Statistical Computing and Software Development: He has authored several R packages available in CRAN and GitHub (https://github.com/jedazard).
