Weihong Guo (pronounced as Way-Hung Gwo) received the Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics and the Master of Statistics, from the Department of Statistics , both at University of Florida and both in 2007. Right after graduation, she joined the Mathematics Department of the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) as a tenure track Assistant Professor and stayed for two years. Starting July 2009, she is with the Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Case Western Reserve University.

Research Interests
Her research is in computational and applied mathematics with strong focus on mathematical imaging science, inverse problems, computer vision, artificial intelligence in imaging, combination of data driven and model driven methods. She has worked with many domain experts in medicine, biomedical engineering and biology for various projects including image segmentation (to segment regions of interest such tumors/cells), image super resolution (to raise resolutions) and spatial transcriptomics data analysis. Her main contribution in such a collaboration is to provide customized mathematical solutions to problems that can't be easily solved using existing off the shelf softwares. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Health.
