David T. Lodowski graduated in 1998 from Tulane University with a BS in cellular and molecular biology. This was followed by graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where, under supervision of Dr. John Tesmer, he obtained his PhD (Structural Basis for the Regulation of GRK2 by Gβγ) in 2005. He followed this work with a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Krzysztof Palczewski at Case Western Reserve University examining the structural changes in bovine rhodopsin that accompany photoactivation and GPCR activation from 2005 to 2011. Currently he is an assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition Case Center for Proteomics and Bioinformatics at Case Western Reserve University where his laboratory focuses on the interactions of GPCRs with their downstream partners employing a combination of X-ray crystallography, electron microscopy, and structural mass spectrometry techniques.
