The Dean's Scholars Program at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine for recent UPR PhD graduates who are interested in a tenure-track academic position. The goal of this program is to foster the development of postdoctoral fellows from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine and science to faculty positions at CWRU.
This structured postdoctoral curriculum is designed to prepare scholars for a successful transition to tenure-track faculty positions. The position can be held for up to five years and is meant to provide additional research and/or scholarly training in preparation for a position in academia.
The fellowship will provide a supplement to the post-doc stipend over and above the NIH standards of $5,000 for the first three years (Step 1) and $10,000 for years 4 and 5 (Step 2). The program will also provide the scholar with additional funds for the laboratory ($15,000 annually for Step 1 and $40,000 annually for Step 2).
