Dr. Knopes is a medical anthropologist whose research areas are mental health and medical education in the United States. Currently, Dr. Knopes is undertaking two qualitative research projects: one on role boundaries and ethics in mental health peer support, and one on medical students' experiences in team-based learning. Dr. Knopes' research has been published in the Journal of Medical Humanities, Perspectives in Biology and Medicine, Medical Anthropology, Anthropology and Medicine, and other journals across the disciplines of anthropology, health humanities, and bioethics.
