How the PRIME Program Prepares Students for Medical School

The PRIME Post-Baccalaureate Certificate curriculum helps students develop many of the AAMC Core Competencies for Entering Medical Students, making it a strong option for students preparing to apply to medical school. Professional Competencies

PRIME students engage in rigorous undergraduate and graduate-level coursework while receiving individualized advising, encouraging continuous academic growth and professional development. Students set goals, reflect on their progress, and incorporate feedback from faculty and advisors to strengthen their medical school readiness.

Through clinical shadowing, volunteering, and patient-facing experiences across Cleveland’s major health systems, students develop a deeper understanding of patient care and the human impact of medicine.

PRIME emphasizes professionalism, academic integrity, and ethical decision-making in both academic and clinical environments, preparing students to uphold the standards expected in medical training.
