Research Associate position in The Department of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
An established PET/MRI research program in the Department of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a Research Associate position. The candidate will be responsible for pulse sequence design, optimization, and clinical implementation on the scanner. The candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including MR physicists, Biomedical Engineers, Computer Scientists, and Physicians.
The responsibilities of this position include: planning and executing research in collaboration with faculty members from CWRU, other academic and clinical institutions, and industrial partners. As a collaborator the Research Associate (RA) will develop and implement experimental design, specifically data acquisition pulse sequences and reconstruction of images. He/she will also perform data analysis utilizing pattern recognition and machine learning. The Research Associate will also participate in invention disclosures, writing manuscripts, and grant work. He/she may present research methods and scientific findings at conferences.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in MRI; emphasis on pulse sequence design, quantitative MRI, phase, or UTE is highly desirable as is a demonstrated proficiency in MATLAB. Experience with the Philips programming environment is a plus;
The candidate will be joining the Case Center for Imaging Research, Department of Radiology at CWRU in Cleveland, Ohio. The project is a collaborative effort of CWRU, University Hospitals of Cleveland, and Philips Healthcare, which formed the Global Advanced Imaging and Innovation Center. The candidate will be working closely not only with scientists but also with physicians in the NCI-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.
