Alireza Kabirian received his BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees all in Industrial Engineering. His MSc degree was obtained in 2006 from Sharif University of Technology in Iran and his PhD was received from Iowa State University in 2009 with concentration in Operations Research.
Alireza has previously taught and assisted in teaching over 2000 undergraduate and graduate students of Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, and Business Administration at Iowa State University, University of Alaska-Anchorage, and California State University-Northridge. His past teaching portfolio involves a variety of courses on Engineering Economics and Accounting Methods, Operations Research, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Transportation Planning, Facilities Planning, Project Management, and Quantitative Methods of Business.

His dissertation at Iowa State focused on developing new algorithms for simulation-based optimization. His current research interest is about modeling operations and supply chain systems. He is working on optimization and stochastic models that integrates pricing decisions with inventory and production management policies. His research has appeared in numerous conferences and journal articles.
