AI firms are watermarking generated text – here’s why it won’t work

New Scientist: Vipin Chaudhary, the Kevin J. Kranzusch Professor in Computer and Data Science and chair of computer and data sciences at Case School of Engineering, noted that AI firms are increasingly watermarking AI-generated text, images and video in response to EU legislation, hoping to combat misinformation and improve transparency.
