Final grades due Dec. 19

Please take a moment to review the procedures and expectations below.

Faculty & Staff | December 16, 2025 | Story by: Editorial Staff

To all faculty teaching fall 2025 undergraduate courses:

Final exams conclude tomorrow, and we want to sincerely thank you for all you have done to make this semester successful. As you complete your grading and prepare for a well-earned break, please take a moment to review the procedures and expectations below.

Your compliance and adherence are required—and also very much appreciated—as students are eager to receive feedback on their work. Timely grade submission is also essential for degree certification for January graduates and for completing critical academic standing processes (such as separations and academic probation) before the spring semester begins. These steps are necessary to complete your administrative obligations to the university. Please abide by the deadline below so that we may successfully complete the semester.

  • Final grades are due in SIS by 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 at the latest. Meeting this deadline is a requirement, so please take careful note of this time.
  • Reconsider incompletes. While occasionally appropriate to support a student, “incompletes” should be used in accordance with academic policies as set forth in the General Bulletin. An incomplete is only appropriate for a student who has completed the majority of the work in a course. Faculty can determine their own deadline for students to complete missing work, as long as it is before Friday, March 27, 2026. Some students may need earlier deadlines due to degree certification or academic standing review.

As we look toward the new year, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your dedication and hard work. Each of you plays a vital role in advancing our institution, supporting our students, and ensuring that a CWRU education continues to make a meaningful difference.

May this holiday season bring you rest, reflection, and quality time with loved ones.

Sincerely,

Joy K. Ward
Provost and Executive Vice President
