“Innovate, Invent, Disrupt: The Importance of Medical Technology in Transforming Healthcare for the Future”

The campus community is invited to join the Department of Biomedical Engineering for its 50th anniversary celebration at the Ford Distinguished Lecture Thursday, Sept. 6, at 3:30 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom. Omar Ishrak, chairman and CEO of Medtronic, will present “Innovate, Invent, Disrupt: The Importance of Medical Technology in Transforming Healthcare for the Future.” Register for the event. Immediately following the lecture, there will be a panel discussion titled “Public Health and Private Hospitals: Better Together?” Panelists will be:

• Toby Cosgrove, former CEO of the Cleveland Clinic;
• Greg Moody, director of the Office of Health Transformation for the State of Ohio; and
• Glen P. Mays, professor in services and systems research at the University of Kentucky.
