WOIO: Eric Chaffee, the John C. Hutchins Professor of Law, warned that abolishing Ohio’s property taxes would devastate local services, especially those for schools, police, fire and children. He said the state would face a major funding crisis, forcing lawmakers to raise income taxes dramatically or hike sales taxes—potentially as high as 20% statewide.
