Medicine’s Claire Sullivan and Ian Neeland challenge concerns about very low LDL cholesterol

Can LDL cholesterol be too low? 

Health Central: Case Western Reserve experts say there is no evidence that very low LDL cholesterol harms brain health or cognition. Claire Sullivan, assistant professor at CWRU School of Medicine, called some concerns about dementia a “myth,” while Ian Neeland, associate professor at the medical school, said very low LDL is usually harmless unless caused by an underlying illness, which should be treated.
