Music’s Lisa Huisman Koops hosts Parenting Musically podcast with insights from postdoc George Blake

In season seven of the Parenting Musically podcast, various professional musicians from the Cleveland area were interviewed to explore dynamic meanings of parenting and place in an age of global interconnection. Lisa Huisman Koops, PhD, professor of music at the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, hosts the podcast.

Each episode featured a response from George Blake, PhD, postdoctoral scholar and Virginia and Walter Nord Fellow in the Humanities at Case Western Reserve University, who shared an ethnomusicological lens on the themes, ideas, instruments, musicians and scholars included in that week’s conversation. Episode 51, which was released last November, also included thoughts by Joan Ellison, faculty member of the CWRU-Cleveland Institute of Music Joint Music Program.

Supported by CWRU, previous seasons of Parenting Musically featured collaborations with the Grammy Museum Foundation, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Country Music Museum and Hall of Fame and The Music Settlement.
