Beginning on Nov. 1, you will be able to officially declare your major, which can be a pivotal time in your undergraduate career. However, if you aren’t quite ready yet, that’s okay! You have until the end of your first year to decide. Even if you have a major firmly in mind, you can still explore other interests and the many experiential opportunities that will enhance your education outside the classroom.
Here are some tips and events to consider:
- Check out the other upcoming Explore events designed to help you explore your interests; filter by the event tag “Series: Explore Academic Programs.”
- Review the list of majors and minors. Learn about programs of interest by reading about them on the General Bulletin, reviewing department websites or researching career interest areas from the Center for Career Success.
- Follow up with the departments if and when you’re prepared to seek additional information or formally declare your major or minor. You can find the list of academic representative contact information for each department on the Undergraduate Advising Support Office’s website.
- Speak with your four-year advisor and pre-major advisor to develop a plan that will allow you to continue exploring your interests and clarifying your plans.
