Nursing’s Marie Grosh named board member of Refuge International
For nearly two decades, Case Western Reserve University students have traveled to San Raymundo, Guatemala, to deepen their clinical knowledge, broaden their cultural competence and provide care to communities with limited access to healthcare.
Marie Grosh, DNP, assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing who participated in multiple previous trips, was appointed board member of Refuge International, which organizes medical mission trips to serve rural Guatemalan communities in need. In Grosh’s new role, she will continue to support medical mission trips.
This year, seven Master of Science in Nursing students ran a full-service clinic, assisted in 88 surgeries and provided care to 350 patients during their week-long mission trip.
