2027 PossePlus Retreat

The PossePlus Retreat is a 2-night, 3-day off-campus retreat where CWRU Posse Scholars and invited students, faculty, and administrators unite to engage in deep, meaningful dialogue on pressing social issues.
This upcoming year’s retreat is themed: Defining a Generation. Every generation is shaped by the world it inherits and inhabits: political moments, cultural touchstones, books, movies, social movements, even the food. In turn, each generation adapts to the challenges and opportunities of their world to bring new perspectives, challenge old assumptions, and imagine new possibilities.
At this year’s PPR, we’ll explore questions like: What defines your generation? What does it mean to be Gen Z? What makes Gen Z generation different or the same from those that came before? What are the challenges and opportunities of today? And ultimately, what kind of legacy do you hope your generation will leave behind?
Posse Scholars: Attendance is required at the annual retreat. Scholars received their personalized registration links in late-September. Contact Dorien Langezaal if you did not receive it.
- December 1: Scholar deadline to register and invite Plussers (guests)
Posse Plussers (guests): Posse Scholars are encouraged to invite campus guests to join us - CWRU students, faculty, and administrators are all eligible to be "Plussers" to the retreat. Scholars can invite their Plussers via their personalized registration links.
- December 16: Plusser (guest) deadline to register
Bus transportation is provided to all guests to and from the PossePlus Retreat. Detailed instructions are shared with attendees closer to the event.
- Bus departs campus: Friday at 3 p.m.
- Bus departs retreat: Sunday at noon.
Most rooms are double occupancy (2 students per room). Roommate preferences are collected in advance, and we do our best to honor mutual roommate requests. Roommate assignments are shared with students a few days before PPR.
Students can expect the following in their room: Towels, pillows, sheets, TV, microwave, mini-fridge, hair dryer, Wi-Fi.
All meals are provided during the retreat. Any dietary restrictions or allergies provided during registration will be shared with the venue.
- Appropriate seasonal attire
- Pajamas
- Swimwear
- Sweater (the rooms could get cold)
- Footwear, including shower shoes if desired
- Toiletries, like toothbrush/toothpaste, hair products, any prescription medications, and other personal hygiene items
- Snacks
- Phone charger
