Kylie Rochford is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. Kylie’s research focuses on workplace relationships and interpersonal dynamics. She is particularly interested in the how the interaction between abilities (e.g. emotional intelligence), personal qualities (e.g. relational self-efficacy), and environmental factors (e.g. relational climate) impact people’s experience of workplace relationships. Kylie hopes her research will help people to navigate, and participate in, the complex social landscapes of their organizations in a way that is personally fulfilling for all involved.

Kylie’s research has been published in leading academic journals including The Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Career Development International, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, and Frontiers in Psychology. Kylie has worked with a number of high profile organizations included the US Forest Service, Ford Motor Company, More Than Sound, Canterbury District Health Board, and the New South Wales District Health Board. Kylie is a member of the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She has been the recipient of a number of scholarships and awards including the General Graduate Fulbright Scholarship.

Kylie recently graduated from the Weatherhead School of Management where she was heavily involved in the coaching program both as a coach and as an instructor. She has coached in the Masters of Positive Organizational Development program, the Masters of Engineering and Management program, and the Law School. She is also Hay Group ESCI accredited. Prior to embarking on an academic career, Kylie was an elite athlete representing New Zealand in karate and triathlon and a national level road cyclist. In her younger years, Kylie followed the winters as a ski instructor in New Zealand, Australia and the US and was the head coach for a race team in Japan. These days she enjoys a quieter life in Salt Lake City with her husband and 15-month-old son.

Kylie has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) and a Masters of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Canterbury and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University.
