Your safety is our priority.

At Case Western Reserve, we are committed to keeping our entire community safe.

That’s why we have our own police and security team working 24/7, plus many other initiatives to make our campus a safer place.

Safe Travels

No matter the time of day, it’s always safer to travel with someone you trust. So we offer multiple options to get you across campus around the clock—from our daytime shuttle service to nighttime, on-demand Safe Ride vans, plus 24/7 walking escorts.

Stay Alert

In an emergency, communication is critical. Our free smartphone app, CWRU Shield, helps you report any serious situation quickly, and lets first responders locate you with more accuracy. Plus, the app allows you to set a “safety check” so you can let friends and family know where you’re headed and when—giving them peace of mind when you make it there safely. Plus, we offer text, email, voice and social media alerts through Spartan Safe, so you—and your family—know exactly what to do if an emergency occurs.

Prepare Yourself

Our Division of Public Safety team members offer a variety of trainings to ensure our students’ safety, including self-defense, ALICE active-shooter response protocol and emergency response. Plus, they track and monitor any security concerns on campus and make that information available to you.

Caring for You

Your health and wellness matter to us. We offer a range of services to students, including medical and counseling help. View our student resources.
