General Information - All prerequisite coursework must be:
- Completed at a regionally accredited institution in the United States or Canada.
- Completed no later than the Fall term of the year of application. Note: Applications will not be considered if there are more than two outstanding prerequisite courses at the time of submission to CASPA.
*We will accept pass/no pass for any course taken between January and May of 2020
Required Courses
- Biology with lab: 1 course (Genetics does not fulfill this requirement)
- Human anatomy with lab: 1 course (comparative anatomy may not be substituted)
- Human physiology: 1 course (animal physiology or kinesiology may not be substituted)
- Anatomy & Physiology combination classes will be accepted but we require two combination courses to fulfill the requirements. For example, Anatomy & Physiology I plus Anatomy & Physiology II with labs will fulfill the requirements, however, Anatomy & Physiology I plus Human Physiology will not fulfill the requirements.
- Microbiology with lab: 1 course
- Organic chemistry with lab: 1 course (general chemistry may not be substituted)
- Combined organic chemistry with biochemistry will not fulfill the requirements. Applicants must take 1 organic chemistry course with lab and 1 biochemistry course.
- Biochemistry: 1 course
- Combined organic chemistry with biochemistry will not fulfill the requirements. Applicants must take 1 organic chemistry course with lab and 1 biochemistry course.
- Psychology: 1 course
- Statistics: 1 course
- Medical Terminology: 1 course Note: An online certificate course is acceptable but you must upload proof of completion to CASPA.
AP Prerequisite Coursework
- May be accepted towards program prerequisites if courses are listed as AP coursework on a CASPA verified transcript from a regionally accredited university in the United States or Canada
- Will not be accepted towards prerequisite courses that require a lab unless you take the lab in college.
Online Prerequisite Coursework
Online coursework will be accepted as long as it meets our course and lab requirements.
