Training and Supervising Analyst Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute; Director Hanns Sachs Library; Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry Harvard Medical School
Daniel Jacobs received a AB from Oberlin College and an MA in English literature from Columbia before graduating in 1965 from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. His residency in psychiatry was at Albert Einstein in New York City and his psychoanalytic training was in Boston. He is currently a training and supervising analyst at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute where he is also director of the Hanns Sachs Library. He is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and on the Board of Trustees of the Adolescent Consultation Center in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Jacobs also directs the Center For Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies (CAPS) at Princeton and Aspen. He has authored over three dozen publications and is the co-author of a play. He is married to author Susan Quinn and is father of two, grandfather of five. His own efforts to find a balance between personal and professional life led him to try to help medical students and residents think about their quality of life. His contribution to CWRU's School of Medicine was the initial groundwork upon which the Wellness Track has been built.
