Materials Science students lead sustainability efforts at CWRU’s “Just a S.E.C.” event
Rishabh Kundu, a second-year PhD student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, has been appointed a Sustainability Champion by the Office of Energy & Sustainability at Case Western Reserve University. The recognition, awarded through a nomination-based process, honors individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to advancing and advocating for holistic sustainability initiatives.
Kundu received the award during the “Just a S.E.C.” event held on Feb. 27, where members of the university community gathered to highlight sustainability-related efforts and achievements across campus and beyond.
At the same event, Blessing Masanga, a first-year engineering student, presented her project during the Lightning Round Talks. Her work focused on assessing the environmental footprints of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. She works with Department Chair Alp Sehirlioglu and Rishabh Kundu.
