TRIO Talent Search

To our participants and partners,

Due to the continuing uncertainty regarding COVID-19 and when it may be safe for group activities to resume, Case Western Reserve University has made the difficult decision to cancel all sponsored summer youth programs, including the 2020 Talent Search Program.

Though we are still a month away from the beginning of these programs, it is simply too difficult to predict how the pandemic will evolve in the coming weeks. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution, and with the health and safety of our participants and their families in mind.

We understand how valuable these summer experiences are for youth in the Greater Cleveland community, and we truly regret the disruption this pandemic continues to cause to our lives. We are exploring opportunities to deliver our summer program virtually this summer and we have a tentative start date of June 8, 2020.

What is Educational Talent Search?

TRIO - Talent Search Logo

The Educational Talent Search (ETS) Project of Case Western Reserve University provides free college, career, and financial aid information, along with academic tutoring and mentoring, to approximately 500 students each year. ETS identifies and selects students who demonstrate the potential for postsecondary enrollment and provides them with the motivation and support to enroll in a program of postsecondary education (college, university, technical or vocational school) after high school graduation.

How Does ETS Work?

  • College, career, and financial aid awareness activities
  • College and career field trips
  • Individual assistance with college admissions, scholarship applications, and financial aid forms
