Together with the Math Corps Summer Camp offered at Cleveland State University, students and mentors develop their talents and support each other through their middle and high school years to build a caring community that fosters academic excellence and equity in the Cleveland area.


National Youth Sports Program (NYSP)

The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) at Case Western Reserve University provides an enriching five-week summer experience that combines sports activities, educational enrichment, career planning, nutrition, and health services to more than 300 Greater Cleveland participants ages 8-16 each year.

Founded in 1988, the award-winning Project STEP-UP (Student Tutoring Effort to Promote Utilization of Potential) initiative has provided tutoring and mentoring to elementary, middle and high school students throughout the Cleveland area. STEP-UP operates as a school and community-based tutoring initiative that supports students from kindergarten through 12th grade with their academics.

A partnership between CWRU, Shaw H.S., Ginn Academy, and the Cleveland School of the Arts. Students are matched with CWRU mentors and tutors to support positive academic outcomes. Seminars, field trips, research projects, summer programming, and family support are included. On-site program for 6th through 8th graders at Kirk M.S.


ThinkSTEM Summer Day Camp

thinkSTEM is a two-week summer day camp that offers students entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grade the opportunity to learn about different types of engineering through hands-on activities and a rigorous curriculum that explores fundamental engineering concepts.

The oldest of the pre-college programs at Case Western Reserve University. Established in 1966, the year-round program is designed to prepare low-income and potential first-generation college high school students for successful postsecondary studies. Includes a six-week summer component and a well-developed academic year component.
