Overview of Project STEP-UP
Founded in 1988, the award-winning Project STEP-UP (Student Tutoring Effort to Promote Utilization of Potential) initiative has provided tutoring and mentoring to elementary, middle and high school students throughout the Cleveland area.
STEP-UP operates as a school and community-based tutoring initiative that supports students from kindergarten through 12th grade with their academics.
STEP-UP invites both volunteer and paid work-study students from CWRU to serve throughout the year, and requires at least one semester of commitment. Non-work-study stipends and graduate assistants are currently funded by the Statewide Mathematics and Literacy Tutoring Grant.
