Important dates and deadlines:
Transfer students are able to declare their major as early as the first day of classes of their first semester at CWRU.
- Fall-admitted students must declare by March 31.
- Spring-admitted students must declare by October 31.
How to declare:
- Download the major declaration form and take it to the academic representative in your intended major for their signature and assignment of a major advisor.
- All students must indicate when they entered CWRU. You should enter your intended graduation term and year. It is okay if this date changes in the future.
- Students interested in pre-medicine/pre-dentistry, or pre-law should mark the respective box on the declaration form.
- Once completed, send the form as an attached PDF to ugadvisingsupport@case.edu.
- A separate form must be completed for each major declared.
- Entering nursing students do not have to declare their major.
The process for declaring a minor is the same as the major declaration process. A separate minor declaration form must be completed for each minor declared. Students cannot declare a minor until they declare a major.
What to do after declaring:
Email your new major advisor to schedule your first meeting. During your meetings, you can clarify major requirements, plan out options for when to complete those requirements, and discuss both your short- and long-term goals for your academic experience at CWRU. They will also be the person to release your registration advising hold each semester so that you can register for courses once your enrollment appointment opens.
Review your degree requirements. Information regarding academic requirements is available in Stellic, accessed via SIS under the "Academic Progress" tile. Stellic will keep you on-track with degree requirements and help you build your graduation plan. You are encouraged to meet with your four-year advisor to review your Stellic degree audit.
